Deleting web history list displayed beneath locator bar

I have tried to delete the web history list on MSN
explorer with no success. I can delete temporary windows
files and visited web sites. When I type in a letter on
the locator bar on MSN explorer, beneath the bar a
history list pops up showing previous visited sites. I
have tried to erase these with no luck. Anyone using my
computer would just have to go through the alphabet to
see a history of sights I have visited. Any suggestions?
I called a local computer store and was told that they
cannot be erased.Thank you.
 
Tools>internet options>content>auto complete....clear everything and uncheck
boxes as desired
