Deleting Variable Ranges

This is what I would like to accomplish:

current cell
end down
lock range
delete the contents of the range

The ranges vary each time I want to clear them.

I'm not sure what Lock Range means, but...

dim myRng as range
with activesheet
set myrng = .range(activecell,activecell.end(xldown))
myrng.clearcontents
myrng.locked = true '???
end with
