deleting users

On Server 2000, is there a certain way to delete users in
the active directory that will delete their mailboxes as
well? Is it as simple as selecting delete?

You would be correct. Just make sure that the check box for including their
mailbox is checked ( should be by default ). Just make sure that this is
what you want to do.

Note that the mailbox - if you have Mailbox Retention enabled - will not
really be deleted until the timeframe passes.
