Deleting unused drivers

I hope someone can help me.I am having trouble removing old drivers from xp
home.I have tried run-regedit etc. to acces the files and have scanned in
safe mode but can't locate the files. The only reason I know the drivers are
still on my hardrive is they show up when I run my bit-defender antivirus
scan eg.Mcafee drivers show up even though I uninstalled this program long
ago.

Thanks

You won't find them in the registry - only references to them, if
you know the names of these files run Search to locate them.
But typically they will be in such folders as
C:\Program Files
C:\ windows\system32\Drivers

Hi Steve,

So McAfee has a lame uninstaller. And are you confusing files, dll's,
etc with drivers? Either way, what does Bit-Defender have to say
about your question? In the meantime:

Yes I reckon it's lamer than Norton's "spastic uninstaller" <00>

Perhaps, you are trying to fine tune things that don't necessary need it.
You may be borrowing trouble in the meantime. Good luck!

On the other hand, that IS one fast way to learn the ins and outs, eg
especially when it results in trouble that you now have to dig/learn
your way out of. Depends on how badly you need your system up and
running I guess and how much time you have to fiddle/diddle.
