Deleting Uninstalled Programs in Add/Remove

J

Jeff

Hello,

I recently uninstalled a program (apparently
unsuccessfully) and now the program is no longer on my
computer but in Add/Remove Programs it still shows. When
I attempt to remove the program (again) through
Add/Remove I receive an error message stating that the
installation path/program could not be found.

How do I delete Add/Remove program entries?

Thank You,

Jeff

There are several ways to delete this record.
You can use one of several software that can delete
the Add/Remove records. One of the softwares
called: "TweakUI".
Or if you feel ok changing the registry, you can type:
"RegEdit" (in the Start > Run)
and browse to:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersi
on\Uninstall
and delete one of the keys that related to your software.

I recommend that you make a backup before deleting any key
just in case.
To make a backup, ckick on the key that you want to delete
and press "File" > "Export..." and save the file.
To restore the backup, just double click on that file that
you saved.

Jeff, how did you uninstall it? Using add/remove programs? One option
is to reinstall, then uninstall the proper way using Add/remove programs.
