When entering a new user name & password on a website, XP asks me if I want
to save them and subsequently when entering the first letter a drop-down menu
appears at the user name window with saved selections. Is there any way to
delete unwanted or unused names from this drop-down menu??

Hi kenny,

Control Panel/Internet Options/Content tab, click on autocomplete - you can
clear the entries here.

If you want to selectively remove entries you should be able to
do so by single clicking on the entry to highlight it and then
hitting the Del key to delete it.

Good luck
