Deleting Restore Points

Does anyone know how to delete manually created system restore points that I
no longer need?
I remember reading that it was an option somewhere but just cannot figure
out how to do it.

Hi

You can't manually delete the SR checkpoints - they are tied into the
Registry. You can use Disk Cleanup to delete all but the last checkpoint.

You have two options.

Disable System Restore and delete all restore points. Then reenable System
Restore or, use disk cleanup and remove all but one (the most recent)
restore point.

There is no option to remove select restore points individually.

Hi Fizicola,

Individual restore points can not be deleted.

But reducing the amount of space (or store size) System Restore uses
will purge the oldest restore points on a FIFO (first in first out)
bases and leave as many recent restore points as the new size will
allow.

I would suggest sizing the partition Windows is installed on to just
under 1GB.

Data drives (other than C:\) can also be disabled to save disk space.
There's a good chance SR isn't monitoring the files on them anyway.
