Deleting programs?

C

Charles Eaves

I have a newbie question.
I deleted several programs off my hard drive using add/remove programs from
the control panel.
Now, when I go into start/program, the name of the program is still listed
with other programs on my hard drive.
When I move the mouse pointer over the program name, a little box slides to
the right and tells me the program ( I guess folder) is "empty".
Without messing up XP, can I right click on the program folder that shows
"empty" and click on delete.
I would have thought that the uninstaller would have deleted the name of the
program.
Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks

Hello,
Besides removing the item from the "start up list" as stated, you can check
in "C:\Program Files", sometimes the removed program will leave a folder that
needs to be removed manually ie: right click on the folder and click delete.
Please make sure it is the folder assigned to the program that was removed
in "add or remove programs".
take care.
beamish.
