How can I get the search line to erase prior searches
like it did on my other computer ?

In Start 'Search' window:
-Left column pick "More advanced options" chevron
--Slide down & pick "Change preferences"
---Pick "Turn autocomplete off"

1. Click Start/Setting and choose Control Panel.
2. Double Click Internet Options.
3. On the Content Tab in the Personal Information section click on
AutoComplete.
4. In the Clear AutoComplete History section of the AutoComplete Setting
dialog box click on Clear Forms.
5. Click on OK.

This will clear all the searches entered. If you just want to delete a few,
not all, just highlight the entries and press Delete.

Hi Bill,
Go to the internet tools or internet options and click on content
then click on autocomplete
then click on clear forms.
Click ok
This should work.
