Deleting network printers

I have an XP workstation that has a defunct network printer icon, that I
origonally populated to all users via the logon with a VB script. The printer
now no longer exists, but I need a way to delete the network printer from all
users profiles. I have tried some scripts found on the net, but when I run
them, they all tell me the print spooler is not running. The old network
printer and the PC no longfer exists, and I preume that is the issue. Is
there any way to clear out these defunct printers, without getting all the
users to log on and do it one by one??
