Deleting NEARLY multiple records in excel

I have seen many posts on how to delete multiple records in excel. My
situation is a little different. I have five columns of data in my sheet. I
have many duplicate records where all four colums are the same, however the
fifth colum of data is different--hence checking the "unique records only"
box will not work, because the fifth column has a different value.

Let's say I have 7 records are all identical in four colunms but differ in
the fifth column, which happens to be "street name". I'd like to keep the
first instance and delete/hide the other occurences.

Any recommendations..without having to download 3rd party software?

many thanks,

Here's how my data looks...

Name Phone Street
Ellen 800-518-6174 CORTE AVALOS
Ellen 800-518-6174 TEHACHAPI PASS
Ellen 800-518-6174 BITTERROOT

I would like to keep only the first row and remove/hide/delete the other 2
instances. I have over 500 rows with multiple scenarios of the above example.

Thanks.

Herbert,

Thanks for the help. I've never used Pivot tables. I downloaded the file
from that web page...did u create it just for this example. I understand
what's going on in that file, but can't figure out how to do it.

Here's the exact data I'm trying to fix:

Name Phone Email Street
City
1. Carolyn 555-1212 (e-mail address removed) Sweetshade Temecula
2. Carolyn 555-1212 (e-mail address removed) Corte Barbaste Temecula
3. Carolyn 555-1212 (e-mail address removed) Corte Mendoza Temecula
4. Carolyn 555-1212 (e-mail address removed) Loma Linda Temecula
5. Carolyn 555-1212 (e-mail address removed) Monte Temecula

I don't care which entry I keep, I just need one of them. Is there a way I
can just merge all records with the name "Carolyn" into one single record?

You also mentioned Advanced filter with Helper....I coulnd't find this in
the help menue. If I do use this feature, how shall I use it?

Thanks.
