Deleting MS Outlook Icon

T

Terry

I'd like to delete the Outlook icon from my desktop, (Outlook, not Outlook Express). But the
problem is it's not a shortcut icon and when I click on "delete" I get the following message: "The
Outlook Desktop icon provides special functionality and we recommend that you do not remove it."
I'm not trying to delete Outlook, all I want is get rid of the icon on the desktop. have no idea
what might happen if I just go ahead and delete it, so that's what I'm asking. Thanks in advance
for any help I can get.

It's okay to remove it. If you're using Outlook Express
as your email, you won't need Outlook. It should
just "turn it off". You can reinstall Outlook later from
your Office CD.

What Operating System are you using? If Windows XP, you can choose to not
show it on your desktop using the right click on the taskbar->Properties
option.
