Deleting Headers from Inbox (RePost)

S

Sitara Lal

I posted this enquiry earlier and did not get any response at all. Don't
know whether it was too difficult a question or whether it was simply
overlooked, but if my question is not clear, please let me know:
================================
My Inbox (OL2003) has several headers which are attempting to download mail
that is no longer existent on the server; as a result I get errors on every
attempt to download mail and get countless dupe messages.

So how can I permanently delete these headers so that OL no longer attempts
to fetch those e-mail messages?

Thanks

The reason you didn't get an answer is you didn't post enough info--your mail
setup, POP or IMAP, and what headers you are asking about. If you are on an
Exchange Server, use Edit, Purge Deleted items. If you have POP mail, use
File, Work Offline and delete. If you are talking about Newsgroups, Outlook
does not handle them but uses OE. It's Outlook Express/ Windows Mail in Vista
that handles NG's. Open that program and delete all headers.
