deleting from outbox

I made mistake in sending email which is 10mb so I know I can't transmit. I
am trying to delete if from outbox but can't because it says outlook is
transmitting. This is causing slow down when ever I send email or check
received mails. Is there any way to delete this from the outbox?

Thanks.

Place Outlook in Offline mode (File-> Work Offline) and restart Outlook. See
if you can delete it now.

I tried your suggestion but it didn't work for me:( I'm using Outlook on my
personal PC and am not connected to a network or server...would this make a
difference? Also, when I select both messages in my Outbox and click
Shift+Delete to permanently delete them I get the message, "Some items could
not be deleted. They were either moved or deleted, or access was denied."
When I click on the More Help button I get this message, "This error may be
the result of trying to delete more than 4,000 messages at one time. Outlook
can not delete no more than 4,000 messages when it is working with a server
message store." Clearly I am not trying to delete more than 4,000
messages...and I'm not sure what a "server message store" is. Also, until
Outlook is able to send or delete these 2 messages in my Outbox, I'm not able
to receive any messages in my Inbox. Any help is greatly welcome and
appreciated!

This didn't work for me either. I still get the same message about if I'm
sure I want to exit because the outbox is transmitting a message.

I'm having a similar problem- except I was able to delete the message.
However Outlook is still trying to send it even though it was deleted. Now
after 5 days of this- my outlook is trying to send "1 of 11" messages that
are not in my outbox. Of course no messages can be sent. I'm able to send
emails through this account using webmail but I cant do it through Outlook.
Any clue how to clear the messages that are hung?
