Deleting from hard drive

Hi everyon
I have just bought my computer recently and want to know how to delete camcorder footage from my hard drive or is it possible to do this ? I have been told that video takes up a lot of space and am worried about clogging the drive. I am using Pinnacle 8 software to edit onto dvd but did not get an option to delete when burning was completed. I am running Windows xp, 512 RAM, 2.66Ghz Pentium 4 processor with 80GB Hard Drive. Any help much appreciated.

Click on the Start button, and then on My Computer. Under "Hard Disc
Drives" it will show you how much free space you have remaining. If you
want to delete any file from your hard drive, including your movie files,
just locate and delete them via Windows Explorer. You DO know where those
movie files are stored, right?

The Pinnacle program when done, cleans up its temp files. If you look in the
Pinnacle program options you can tell it where to put temp files and where
to put the final product.
