I have some old directories in My Documents that contain shortcuts to
DOS programs. Winders won't let me delete them. It says Access Denied. I
have admin privledges on the drive, why can't I delete these things?

Boot up in safe mode, bypassing Winders start up files and give it another
try.

It's bad practice to store infectable code in your "data" set, and as
DOS shortcuts (.PIF) can be replaced by raw code that will run as such
(because the OS is too useless to sanity-check that a .PIF really is a
..PIF before "opening" it). Perhaps this has already happened?

First, the good Customer feedback has
been clear and unambiguous.

Help and Support tells you all about creating them or modifying them,
but not how to delete them.

Until you have ownership, you aren't going anywhere with deleting them.
