Deleting Accounts

Jeremy

I'm running WinXPProSP2, IE6, LAN (3 machines), and
seem to have more accounts than I know what to do with.
These are: Administrator, All Users, Default User, GG
(me, with admin privileges), and User.

I'm the only one using the host, with username
Administrator and full name GG. "User" has username User
and full name Bozzo (with admin privileges).

I want to delete User (which I know I can do through
Control), but the problems are these: (1) there are more
files and folders in User than there are in GG; (2) if
the registry is chock-full of references to User, it
probably wouldn't be good to remove their account-base;
and (3) for the latter reason I suppose I can't rename
any account either (or does XP change registry references
in accord with account name changes).

Finally, can any of the other accounts referred to above
be safely removed?

Thank you for any assistance.

Sorry, I don't know whether you can rename/delete
the "User" account with impunity, or whether the registry
can adapt itself to a name change.

I understand you wanting to cull unused accounts,
however, given that reduced clutter leads to improved
performance.
