Deleting a scrap

I have created a scrap on my desktop, but now when I try to delete it I am
prevented from doing so because "it is in use by another person or program".
But no one else is on the network at the momemnt, and I have no programs
running (certainly not MS Word, from where the scrap came originally).

Any ideas how I can delete it?
