Deleted registry keys without backup, now what?

I was trying to fix one problem and troubleshooted online. It told me
to delete registry keys. I thought registry was backed up, but it
wasn't. Can't remember what was deleted and now certain things are
funky.

When I go to Add/Remove programs there is nothing showing at all. The
space is all white. I can't use windows media player, or any other
function for photos, etc. Certian links are missing on web pages too.

Any ideas?

Forgot to mention:

Using Windows Pro 2000
Internet Explorer 6

And where is the backup disc image file? Re-install and either
fix or avoid the problem while doing so.

With your Win2000 SP4 (w/ optional SRP1) slipstreamed CD in the drive, run:

sfc /scannow

be prepared to wait for a long time. That HAS fixed the computer
graphic in Add/Remove programs. most likely you'll need to reinstall,
though! :(

good luck.
