I accidently deleted the partition on my removable hard drive when reinstalling win XP (don't ask!!) Is there any way I can retrieve this data. if I plug the drive in now it just says it has not been formatted. i had backed loads up onto this disk but I mainly want to retrieve photographs from my digital camera

If you've deleted the partition you could risk it by buying some data recovery software from the net, or going to a data recovery place. Deleting a partition isn't too easy to get back - just don't use the drive any more or you might lose any data you may be able to recovery. One of our sponsors is a data recovery place (check the disklabs link on the right), they may be able to help if you go down that route.

I presume you mean that the photos are on the hard drive, and not on the camera any more?
