Deleted Network Service and Local Service from Registry

I mistakenly deleted registry keys for the Network Service (S-1-5-20) and the Local Service (S-1-5-19) from my computer. The Network and Local Service User Accounts still exist under Documents and Settings, but since the registry has been damaged, I receive error messages in the event viewer, e.g. can not load user profile for Network Service, or similarly Local Service User. Is there any way of repairing the registry short of a clean installation to fix this problem? I do not have a backup version from before the fateful event where I deleted these keys. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

My restore points do not go back far enough, e.g. before the date of the deletion. Any other ideas

Go to Control Panel->System->Advance->User Profile
Delete that entry for that user if any.

I think boaz did not understand the problem. No, I do not have it fixed. You can not delete the Local Service and Network Service "Users." They are part of the operating system. I deleted other users who are no longer users of the computer, and also removed their registry entries. This is where I got into trouble. The registry is not organized by user name, instead by SID, making hard to correctly identify the correlated user. Until recently, I did not understand the common user SIDs such as S-1-5-19 and S-1-5-20 for the Local Service and Network Service users respectively. Ordinary users, e.g. those with user accounts visible in the control panel begin with S-1-5-21

I deleted the registry entries because the delete user failed to remove all traces of prior users. My question remains: Is there a way to re-register the Network and Local Service Users into the registry to repair the operating system

Thanks

Hi, have you searched Google? I have been doing some searching for you.
What version of Windows do you have?
Keep us posted on your situation. I hadn't heard from you so assumed you had
the problem corrected. Let me know and I will see what I can find.

Hi Donna

No, I have not solved the problem. I have XP Pro, and saw your subsequent response, but have not tried that yet. I am reluctant to try that procedure, as I expect it will "uninstall" all of my software since it will create a new, non-corrupt registry file. I suspect it will be similar to a clean installation without the install process. As a last resort, I may have to go down that path
