Deleted Mail account

I am running Outlook 2007 and Vista.
In the E-mail Accounts I had both a yahoo POP setting and a connection to an
exchange server (which I do not log into any more). Whenever i started
Outlook it would prompt me to log into the exchange server and I would just
cancel this login (I do not have access to that exchange server any more).
This worked fine. Yesterday i decided to delete the exchange server email
account from this profile so I wouldnt have to cancel the exchange server
login every time and only have the POP account in the profile.
Now I have no calendar, personal folders, nor address book. Further when I
started outlook it re downloaded ALL my Yahoo mail (Not just the new). is
there a way to recover?

You might be able to recover the mail profile if you have a registry backup,
otherwise, no (at least not without buying a tool to hack the offline folders
..ost file). What most likely happened is that when you stopped logging into
the Exchange account, you kept using the offline folders for that account and
kept that account as the default store. When you removed the account, that
removed the store that contained the bulk of your and made a mess of things.

Using a system restore point from prior to your deletion of the account
might work.

Thanks for the reply. So the question now would be do I do the registry
recovery or a system restore? My guess is I only get one shot at this.

If the system restore point is recent, using it should restore the registry.

Thanks! You were right. I did have a recent restore point and it did fix
the problem.

OK, then, right this minute, create a new PST (File>New>Outlook Datra File)
and Ctrl-click/Drag each folder you have in your restored folder set to the
root of this new PST. You can then remove your Exchange account and make
the PST your delivery location.
