Deleted items folder "FIX"

I couldn't get my deleted items folder to empty no matter what I tried. Well
since I just got my computer I called for tech support.
I would ask how many of you having this problem imported your Outlook mail
from Windows XP into your Vista Mail account? According to my tech support
XP and Vista are not compatible and this is what causes the problem.

The link below gives instructions on how to "fix" the problem. You are just
going to go in and save your email onto your desktop, set up a new email
account, then import the folders you want from the mail account you saved to
your desktop into your new mail account. DO NOT IMPORT ANY FOLDER THAT HAS 0
BYTES, AND NATURALLY DO NOT IMPORT YOUR DELETED ITEMS FOLDER.

I am new to all of this computer stuff but I hope this helps some of you.

Sorry, but although solution works, you tech support is just guessing about
the cause. It has nothing to do with imported from Outlook.

It is a bug specific to Windows Mail and a *bad* email message that gets
stuck.

I experience this issue once myself. I have never owned XP or Outlook, but I
bought a new computer with Visa to replace my old one with Win98SE. I did
not even import anything into Windows Mail. All my accounts were typed in,
one at a time.

When a deleted mail message gets stuck in the deleted folder, it will not
delete with other messages. You have to keep using the "empty" command, over
and over, while the deleted messages empty out of the folder just a few at a
time.

If you do not have the time and patience necessary to "empty" the folder a
hundred times, then the method you used will do the job.

In either case, they are only a temporary solition, until the next time a
deleted mail message gets stuck, which may not happen again for most people.
