The easiest way would be to create a new Personal Folder File (.pst) and
import all of you good data into the new .pst file and then simply close
the old .pst file. To do this use the following steps:
We need to know if Outlook is in Corporate/Workgroup mode (CW) or Internet
Mail Only mode (IMO).
1. In Outlook go to Help -> About Microsoft Outlook.
2. On the second line of the window that opens it should say
Corporate/Workgroup or Internet Mail Only.
Use the following steps depending on which mode Outlook is configured in:
To create a new Personal folder in Corporate/Workgroup mode
1. On the File menu, click Exit and Log Off.
2. Click Start, point to Settings, and click Control Panel.
3. Double-click the Mail (or Mail and Fax) icon.
4. On the Services tab, click Show Profiles.
5. Click to select the profile you want to add a new personal folders
(.pst) file to and click Properties.
6. On the Services tab, click Add.
7. In the Available Information Services list, click Personal Folders, and
then click OK.
8. In Create/Open Personal Folders Filetype a name for your new personal
folders (.pst) file with a .pst extension, and then click Open.
9. In Create Microsoft Personal Folders you may change the name that will
be listed in Outlook for this Personal Folders file, and click OK, OK, and
then click Close.
To create a new Personal Folder in Internet Mail Only mode
1. Open Outlook.
2. On the File menu, point to New, and click Personal Folders File (.pst).
3. In Create Personal Folders, navigate to the location where you wish to
create the file, type a name in File Name, and click Create.
4. Once the .pst file is created you should see it in the Folder List.
Next we need to set the new .pst file as the Default Delivery Location.
Set the Delivery Location in Corporate/Workgroup
1. On the Tools menu, click Services.
2. In Services, click the Delivery tab.
3. In the "Deliver new mail to the following location box," click to select
where you want to send and receive messages.
4. Click OK.
5. Quit and restart Outlook.
Set the Delivery Location in Internet Mail Only
1. On the View menu, click Folder List to display the Folder List.
2. In the Folder List click Personal Folders, and on the File menu, point
to Folder and then click Properties. NOTE: If you created a new name for
your Personal Folders, it will appear as Properties for "<Your Personal
Folders Name>."
6. Click to select "Deliver POP mail to this personal folders file," then
click OK.
7. Quit and restart Outlook.
The next thing you need to do is import the information from the old .pst
file into the new .pst file. So we need to find the location of the old
pst file.
1. In Outlook right click on the old .pst file and Select Properties.
2. Click on the Advanced button.
3. There should be a "Filename" field that contains the path to the .pst
file.
4. Write it down.
Now to import the old .pst file:
1. On the File menu, click Import And Export.
2. From the list of options, click Import from another program or file, and
then click Next.
3. In Import A File, click Personal Folder File(.pst), and then click Next.
4. In File To Import, type the full path and file name of the personal
folders (.pst) file to be imported, and then click Next.
5. Click to select the folder to be imported from Select the folder to
import from list, and then specify the destination for the folder.
Finally we need to remove the old Personal Folder.
To remove the .pst file in Corporate/Workgourp mode
1. Exit Outlook.
2. Click Start, point to Settings, and then click Control Panel.
3. Click the Mail or the Mail and Fax icon.
4. On the Services tab, click Personal Folders, and then click Remove.
To remove the .pst file in Internet Mail Only mode
1.Open Outlook.
2. Right-click on the old Personal Folder and click Close "<Personal Folder
name>".
I hope this information is helpful.
