deleted files do not go to the Recycle Bin

When I delete a file - any file - it gest immediately deleted and does not
get put in the recycle bin.

I DO NOT have the option checked in the recycle bin properties to
"Immediately delete."

I have full authority on my computer. I have not updated or downloaded
anything.

I have run a full virus scan and found nothing and I have also done a
spyware/pest search and found nothing.

When I delete a file - even a tiny .txt. file - I do get the message "are
you sure you want to delete." I used to get "are you sure you want to send
this file(s) to the recycle bin" and it would send the file to the bin, where
it would sit until I delted it from there. Now, all files are just deleted
without going to the bin first.

any ideas?

thanks in advance.

Hi,

Check the below registry settings whether it is enabled. If it is 1 then
the files deleted will never go to recycle bin. Back to 0 ro reinstate the
recycle bin.

KEY: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\ SOFTWARE\Microsoft\ Windows\CurrentVersion\
Explorer\BitBucket

VALUE NAME: NukeOnDelete

METHOD: Change the value to 1 to permanently delete files, or back to 0 to
reinstate the Recycle Bin.

Thanks,

Thank you for the advice, but I checked and the value data is set to 0.

I see that is the same setting as one gest when they select the "Global" tab
from the Properties of the Recycle Bin. That check box was unmarked.

Any other ideas? Perhaps some setting elsewhere? Something to do more with
file properties than the recylce bin?

This might be due to corruption of the Recycle Bin itself. Try deleting
it to see if that repairs the problem. Open a command prompt and type

"rd /s Recycler"

Windows will create a new Recycle Bin when it's needed.
