deleted file problem

I am receiving the message "unable to open this file" "Possible reasons..
not enough disc space or low memory." The same message came up for 3 days i
my inbox, but now has moved to the deleted folder. Anyone have an idea what is going on?
Please help.
 
My guess would be that the file attach was pulled from the
email because it was infected with a virus.
