Assuming you are using a PC, with windows, your deleted file may be in the
recycle bin. There should be an icon on your desktop for the recycle bin.
Double-click it, look through the file list for the filename. Click on the
filename to highlight it. Now click on the file menu at the top of the screen
it should show a restore option. Select restore, the highlighted file should
vanish, from the deleted files list. The file should appear in its original
location.
Deleting a file in Windows takes more than just "hitting the wrong key". If
you did confirm deletion of a *file*, look in the recycle bin as Tom
suggested. As long as the file was on your hard drive it should be there.
My impression, however, is that you actually deleted *content* from a file,
in which case go to the Undo button on the Standard toolbar & undo the wrong
you've done. If, however, you've already closed & saved the file I'm afraid
Suzanne's "recover from backup" option is the only out.
