Deleted Drive Appearing on Server

I've deleted a partition on a local drive (D partition) and the space is
unallocated now. But when I go into My Computer the "D" is still showing as
an active partition. I have 25 GB sitting as unallocated space that I
actually need to recreate into a "D" partition again. In Computer Management
all other hardware is showing, and when I try to recreate the "D" drive it
allows me to only use letters "H" and above. What can I do to straighten
this out?

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

What does Disk Management have to say about it?

Disk Management shows that the only partion is the local C, and the other
remaining space is unallocated.

No other drives labeled as "D"? Also look at removable storage.

No, there are no drives with the letter D. I've tried to create a partition
with the unallocated space, and when it comes to assigning a letter to the
partition it starts beyond D and I can't label it such.

How did you delete? What happens if you double-click? right-click
properties? Also look at removable storage.

I deleted the partition thru disk management. If I double click on the drive
thru My Comp it opens as if it's actually a storage container, but I can't
create any files in it nor can I transfer any files to it. The properties,
in disk management, show what would be a property sheet with no info.

You might have a look at;

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\MountedDevices

Maybe a dead mount point. You can delete it by means of
my commandline tool DelMountPoint:
