Hi,

I just cleaned out my registery and found that I also deleted some dll
files. Now I system restore is gone....I also can't scandisk...nothing
happens for that either.

How can I restore it back to normal? I'm afraid to shut down my computer or
reboot. HELP!

No problem: Simply restore your system partition from backup.

You did backup your system partition before playing around with things you
don't understand, right? I hope so, because otherwise you could be in
serious trouble.

Depends on the damage you've done

You could try:

try "c:\windows\system32\restore\rstrui.exe" to start up system restore and
hopefully you can find an old restore point to go to, but probably not,
because my experience has been if you manually edit the registry, system
restore can't restore. But hey!, that's negative vibes going your way,
sorry.... Of course it will work!!!

I don't back up either, and last I checked, not many of us can afford a $5
grand tape carousel....
