That is true, but if someone is just installing xp to be installing the
latest and greatest with no reason other than that, then it is a foolish
move to start with. However, there are a ton of reasons to upgrade to xp
from 98 when you want a certain need such as usb 2.0 support, large disk
support over 137gb (which is becoming common), and one of the main reason I
upgraded was the security and broadband support out os the box. A lot of
tech support are getting trained with xp since Micky Mouse is on the verge
of moth balling win98. Video editing and big hard drives and memory was
choking the 98 machine. Of course I am not trying to run old dos and win 95
programs or hardware. All in all xp has been a boon since 98 was just not
keeping up with the current times. The only other operating system that
came close to xp is win2000 in security. win98 is just crap handling user
security and can be broke with very little effort. XP takes extreme amounts
of knowledge or money to even begin to hack into it if it is properly setup.
Old machines use 98, new just no reason since I think the word comfortable
just mean I can not take the learning.
