delete winnt files $NtUninstallxxxxx$

Does anyone know wether I can safely remove and delete
these files on a Windows 2000 server located in the WINNT
directory. I have many of these file (hidden) that are
beginning take up hard drive space on my server.

If you delete these folders (they should be compressed on NTFS volumes) then
you can not un-install the updates (which you probably don't want to do
anyway). Then, if you go down the list of updates in Add/Remove Programs
and click "remove" on each update it will tell you there was an error
finding the uninstall information and would you like to remove the program
from the list of un-installable programs. This way you can clean up your
Add/Remove programs list.

I do this ever week or so.
