DELETE SHARED NETWORK PRINTER

Greetings;

I have a laptop on my wireless network and this laptop is using a shared
printer on an XP PC. If you delete the network printer in the Control
Panel/Printers on the laptop, do you also delete the drivers or whatever
else was installed with it or some other steps must be taken to completely
delete the network printer. Thanks for your assistance.

You should first try deleting the printer and associated software using
add/remove programs in the control panel.
If that does not remove the entry in 'printers' then remove it there.
Removing from 'printers' only removes access to it, not the drivers for
instance. If removed from the printers area and the printer is re-attached
it will be found and reinstalled..

Thanks. However I did not find anything about the network printer in the
add/remove.

Then I would expect that it was installed directly by Vista from its store
of drivers. In that case simply remove it from the printer control panel. If
it came in as a standard driver from windows you would have to muck in the
Windows protected areas to completely remove the drivers.
