Delete scheduled task: Access denied

Hello,

I usually try to avoid using an administrator
account. While using a user account, I created
a scheduled task. As a troubleshooting step (its
satus was "Could not start" I copied it. However,
I can't delete the copy. I get the message "Cannot
delete Coyp of TaskName: Access is denied. The source
file may be in use". I tried disabling the task, but
still couldn't delete it. The odd thing is that I can
delete the original task, but not the copy I made.
The task (the copy, that is) has all permissions
given to the user account I was using, including
"full control", "modify", and "write". In order
to delete it, I had to log in as administrator.
That is immensely inconvenient. To find out why,
I did a search and came up with
http://support.microsoft.com/?kbid=310208
This describes a domain level group policy. I
don't have any special rights at the domain
level, and the limit of my control is over the
local PC. I tried to look local versions of
the settings described therein, but can't find
them. The closest I could find was a panel
called "Local Security Policies", which has a
lot of settings under "User Rights Assignment"
and "Security Options". But nothing relevant
to being able to allowing a user to delete a
scheduled that he created himself. Can anyone
suggest the next thing to investigate? My Win2K
version is 5.00.21.95, service pack 4. Thanks.

Fred
