Excel 2002, WinXP
I open a new blank workbook with more than one sheet.
I protect one sheet.
I try to enter something in a cell in that one sheet. I can't. Good.
I try to delete that sheet. It deletes.
I don't know why and when, but I was under the impression that a protected
sheet could not be deleted. Apparently, this is not correct.
Is this true?
Thanks for all your help. Otto

Hi Otto

there is a difference in excel between sheet protection - which protects the
CONTENTS of the sheet and workbook protection - which protects the STRUCTURE
of the workbook.

Enabling worksheet protection stops people changing things on the sheet,
however, you need to enable workbook protection (tools / protection /
protect workbook - ensure structure is checked) to stop people deleting the
sheet - unfortunately, it also stops them inserting worksheets and a few
other things.
