I just noticed a folder, C:\Program Files\MSN (10.6 MB size on disk),
which contains MSN Explorer and related files. I connect to the internet
using IE 6 with Road Runner (cable) as my ISP, and I've never ran MSN
Explorer. So is this folder completely useless? Does Windows XP use
anything in that folder? Can I safely delete it?

Some more general questions:
If MS places something in C:\Program Files\ , does that mean it's not
necessary for Windows? I also have Office 2003. Does Office use anything
outside the Office and Windows folders?

Hi Nehmo,

You can remove this by unchecking the option in Control Panel, Add\Remove
Programs\Windows Components.

To remove:
Control Panel>Add/Remove programs>Add/remove windows components
(column on left).
After running, delete the remains of MSN Explorer folder using Windows
Explorer.
