Delete messages once read?

Hi there,
I'm just wondering is there a way I can delete messages from my inbox once
they have been read? I get emails on a schedule from a server telling me its
ip address (as it's not static). And once I open them I would like them
automatically deleted. I just need this setting to apply to one folder in my
inbox. Any help would be appreciated.

After you're done reading the message, instead of clicking the close button,
click the Delete button.
 
I don't actually open the message in a new window...I right click and go view
attachments. I have the reading pane active though. I was thinking more
along the lines of a rule or flag change or something.

Automatic rules operate only on new, unread messages.
