Delete messaages x days after download

Delete news messages ticked - 31 days after being downloaded

Question (I have asked before but only got the reply "yes it does that" or
words to that effect) Is there any other setting required to delete
messages to the above settings? (yes I understand downloaded is the critical
word). Currently, my message folders date back to 07 January. But this is
only because I manually deleted messages nearly a month ago.

I have to delete manually to prevent excessive build up of messages.

Is the apparent non working of this feature "one of those things" as I was
advised
previously? Might it work with SP1? Any comments out there please?

Depends on where you're seeing this.

In Tools | Options | Advanced | Maintenance, that's only news messages.

In Tools | Accounts | Properties | Advanced, that applies to the server, not
your machine.
