Delete Excel Spreadsheet in Word Document

I embedded an Excel spreadsheet in a Word document and now I need to remove
it. I can delete all of the contents but not the spreadsheet itself. Can
someone help me?
 
You want to leave an empty Excel workbook embedded in your document?
Double-click it, select the cells that have content & use Edit> Clear> All
[or the equivalent if using Office 2007].
