delete drive partition

Hello! I wanted to check on something before I tried it. My 120gb hard
drive has a partition to make a 60 and an other 60. I want to delete this
partion using start/control panel/administrative tools/computer management/
disk management. If you right click the partion you want to delete, it says
'delete partition'. What I want to know is if any change will happen to the
other partion. I have all my data on the first partition and no data on the
one I want to delete.
Thank you, Doug S.

If you've no data on the second partition, then deleting it can't
possibly do any harm.

Once you delete the partition all you have will be a 60 GB HDD. To use the remaining 60 GB you will need to partition it, you will then have 2 60 GB drives on 1 HDD. The same as you have now.

If you want to add the 60 GB to the 60 GB partition to have a 120 GB partition, you will need 3rd party software. The tools in XP will not do it without destroying the existing data.

I use Disk Director from www.acronis.com.
