delete access 2007 database

I'm new to access 2007 and to databases in general. As a start, I created
several trial databases for practice, including one based on a downlaoded MS
template. Now, for the life of me, I can't find a comand to delete those
databases that I no longer have use for. How do I do this?

Larry was telling you that you find the database file in Windows Explorer
and delete it there.

There is no such command within the Access user interface.

Simply select the .mdb or .accdb file using Windows Explorer and delete it.

It may still show up in the list of "recent files" even though the file no
longer exists; is that what you're seeing?

Well, not exactly. I deleted the file as you said (at least I think I did...
I've been using this Vista Ultimate for only a few days. It's quite
diffferent). I still see the databases in "Recent.." and they seem to open
o.k. with data in them.

Sorry, can't help you there! If you can open the database it's obviously not
been deleted.

This is EXACTLY what I am seeing. I've deleted them from my directory but
they are still on the main page when I open Access. I've been stuck on this
for a freaking week. Someone please help!

Why do you CARE?

The databases are not on your disk.
They have been deleted.
They are gone.
There is ONLY the memory that they once existed being displayed to you. If you
don't click on the previous database record... nothing will happen. When
you've created four more databases, they'll no longer be there.

I don't for sure know how to get rid of the listing in 2007, but in 2003 and
earlier you can use Tools... Options... General. Change the default number in
the "Recently Used File List" box to 0; close and open Access, and set it back
to 4 or whatever.

Go to Access Options - Advanced - Display - Show this number of Recent
Documents: - Set it to 0
Click Ok.

Thanks, AccessVandal. I haven't dived into 2007 yet and they've obviously
changed where this setting can be changed.
