Delays

I am having delays when I open some Excel files. It will take up to 1 minute
for the file to open. However, if I open Excel first, then the file it comes
right up. It is not limited to Excel, the same is done when I click on a
link for an internet address. Therefore this question may be more
appropriate somewhere else, but I figured I would give it a shot. Any
direction would help. Thanks
 
Cleaning out your Temporary Internet File cache is a good place to start.

Start>Settings>Control Panel>Internet Options>General tab.
