Delay

Last couple days I have developed a delay in closing folders or shutdown
after the computer had been on a while, it's intermittent.

Shutting down the computer has taken as long as 15 to 20 seconds for the
desktop page to go to shutting down, saving your settings then shutdown.

Did try to estimate length of time this condition would occur, yesterday
waited as long as one hour, everything worked well. Today closing a folder
shutting down there was a delay. comments appreciated. Thanks.

I suspect that it might be after the AU of .net Framework version 2.0 KB's
922770 & 917283.

Checking Add\Remove Programs two versions of the above mentioned Programs
are listed plus a version 1.1.
Are all three versions necessary especially version 1.1, I would thing
upgrading to version 2.0 older version would have been removed?.

How can I get rid of Windows Messenger permanently from the task bottom
right ?.

Run defrag. If that doesn't help, run anti-virus.

Did defrag, AVG,Spybot,ADaware. Problem persists.
