Delay in Receiving Messages

The problem is that messages are not showing up in my inbox as they come in.

For example, I will be in my inbox w/no new messages showing. Then I go to
"Sent Items" and back to "Inbox". Only when I go back to the Inbox do a
cluster of emails show up that are time-stamped in the past. In other words,
the messages were there, but did not show up until the Inbox was refreshed by
going to sent items and back to Inbox.

How do I change settings so messages show up as they come in?

UDP blockage. Go to http://support.microsoft.com/, and search the
Knowledgebase for "UDP".
 
If you uninstall XP patch 2, this will start working properly. I had 15
machines that started working like this after applying patch 2.
