Delay in name resoulation

Hi Friends,
I got two win 2000 server in my office , one is
application server and other is dns server.Application
server require Dns server.But my application in
application server frequantly genrating an error
stating "your name server is behaving poorly".How can i
improve the performance of my dns server.
any idea to improve performance.

That's an interesting message.

One thought, if your application requires DNS, then make absolutely sure
that is the only DNS server in the machine's IP properties, since I'm
assuming that the application stores data in DNS and is probably trying to
find resources that way, very similar to Active Directory. If you have any
other DNS servers listed, then I can understand a message coming back that
way, since it's probably trying to ask that other DNS server, maybe such as
your ISP's?
