I have a windows 2000 server with a C and D drive. I can defrag the c drive
but when I try to defragment the d drive I get a message that says "disk
defragmenter cannot defrag this read only drive (d)

Any help would be appreciated

George,

It came up with errors (I ran it without /F). Once these errors are corrected, should the defrag utitlity work?

Thank you,

Matt

Do a chkdsk first on the drive in question.

It doesn't help defrag if the drive has errors. But if it fixes it I don't really know. Fix those errors and try it.
