Defragmantation oh hard disk

Hi
Trying to defragmante the hard disk is awaist of time.
Every time I try it it starts and keep trying again and
again for hours with no sucsess. The progress bar goes for
2-5 parts and starts from the begining.

I have windows 98.
can any body help please.

While defragmenting any disc write will interrupt the
process.

Do it in Safe Mode. To get faster responses to questions please post
them in the appropriate newsgroup. For instance this one is for Windows
2000 so you would post to one for Windows 98.

The built in windows defrag program is not very good. I
suggest you do a search on the Internet for Disk Keeper
Lite. It is a free defrag program that works great.
