Frank, there were many ancient philosophers that had opposing ideas...
What I said was also originated in ancient greece.

However after much thought and study I have concluded that there is one
ultimate truth,
however it is hidden from us still since we are limited to only 3+1
dimensions of space-time.

A statement can either be closer or further to the truth.

You can reply with another smarty pants remark and include some name calling

How many people actually likes to sit there and watch it?

Let it run like it's supposed to in the background or at its scheduled time
and forget about it. There are more important things in life than having to
worry about defragging your disk....

Microsoft's recent marketing campaign to the IT business community states
that for every $1 spent on Vista, $18 will be spent on third party
solutions (software/hardware). The commercial/proprietary vendors love
Microsoft because its mode of operation is to force this kind of spending
either through deficient software included in the OS or hardware demands
to
run their bloatware. This might be all well and good for the sellers, but
think about what this means to consumers. The math is easy, simply
multiply
your investment in Vista by 18 to get what it'll cost you to get a
functioning Vista box going.

Love and Kisses,
Doris

You know, a better cause to trying to get people to switch to "free
software" would be to create free gas....

Come up with and organization that can provide me with free gas anytime i
need it and I will be the first contributor!

Jeff

Amazing how people believe everything should be free!

<G>. When I used to run a dfrag every 3-4 months,
I watched a "defrag display" for two reasons: It would indicate to me the
program was executing, and it would give me an approximation of how much had
been completed and how much there was to go. I didn't "watch "it
continuously, but a glance now and then would give me good status. That
being said, Vista
has made the whole process pretty much transparent. Early on I used to do
an analyze every so often and the results were always
less than 2%. I no longer even do that, and frankly haven't even given it a
thought until seeing this thread.
