I have a few startup programs whenDefender starts that keep saying
"unclassified" How do I classify them so they are permitted?
One is Nuance PDF Converter

Thanks, SoozyQ

Are you on the latest version of Nuance PDF Converter? I think that I have
that on a couple of Vista Business laptops, and haven't heard from the users
that this is an issue. Check the Nuance site.

I have most recent version. I heard just to put the program in the box below
to ignore, although I hate to do that with programs.

thank you

That is the other available option. It isn't the greatest, but if you do it
with an individual program, rather than a folder, it is reasonably safe.

I'll double-check with my users, if I can reach them--these are Dell
laptops, and the users travel...

If you select the item marked as unclassified you will notice thet the
Enabled option is greyed out. Click the disable option and you will see that
the Enable option becomes active. This implies that "Unclassified" doesn't
mean that they weren't permitted, it just means Defender has not been able to
classify them..
