Hi,
I use Win XP Pro and after AD-Aware having run and after I having
deleted some dangerous files:
Actalert.exe, Internet Optimizer, manage.exe, etc.
when I make the reboot of my PC Start/turn off,
my PC doesn't reboot correctly anymore but when I go to Start/turn
off, it opens a window tells me that it cannot turn off the PC because
there is a "rundll32.exe" running.
"The application doesn't work", I see the cursor that advances,
then after some clicks it turns off. It seems there is a conflict.
I have also deleted the keys of the dangerous files in Regedit.
I think I have deleted amiss some files of Windows XP Pro.
What can I do if I want turning off my PC correctly?
Thanks

PS. I have just used Start ----> All Programs ----> Accesories ----->
System Tools ----> System Restore
but my PC doesn't succeed to restore the system.

bye Fogar

Unfortunately, we don't really know what you've done. "Deleted amiss
some files" isn't really useful information. It does not sound like
your computer is completely clean, though. First, be sure your computer
is also virus-free by scanning with a current (post-2002 version using
updated definitions) antivirus program. If you are quite sure that your
computer is virus and spyware-free, start trying to repair by putting
in your XP cd and then going to Start>Run and typing "sfc /scannow"
without the quotes. Note that there is a space between "sfc" and "
scannow". This will replace damaged system files.

If running the System File Checker doesn't help, then you will need to
do a Repair Install. Here are links to information about various types
of Windows installation:
