How do you set "Details" to be the default folder view in
Windows Explorer instead of "Icons"? Hard to look at
folders with many icons.

Hi,

Then click tools/folder options/view and "apply to all folders".

In the menu bar:
view>>details

If you then want to set the detail view for all folders as the
default, go to the tools menu \ folder options \ view. Click "apply to
all folders". Apply and okay your way out.

Open a window on a folder, set it up in all respects as you would want
by default. Then take its Tools - Folder Options - View, set up any
other settings of interest, make sure that 'remember each folder's view
settings' is checked, then click the Apply to All button at the top
